Tuesday December 6, 2016 “Arise and go up”

Genesis 35:1-3  Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”
And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way  which I have gone.”
In verse 1, God told Jacob “Arise and go up to Bethel”.  In verse 3 Jacob told his family and all others with him to arise and go up to Bethel.  To arise means to get moving again after a season of sleep or being stagnant.
PRAY in agreement today that Christians in America awaken from their sleep or move forward from their stagnant position.  It is time for us to work while there is yet the light of day.  The greatest work in Christianity is done through the corporate church (Bethel – the House of God) so let us all rise up, support and make the church in America great again.
