Friday December 9, 2016 “Prayer along the way”

Genesis 35:3 “Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.”
God was with Jacob in times of distress and also in times when he needed direction in normal times of life when he was simply going in the way he went in life.  It’s easy to call upon the Lord in prayer during times of distress, but not so easy to pray without ceasing when in everyday life and things are moving in the right direction.
Israel of old had certain times of day when sacrifices were offered to God.  These sacrifices were a type of prayer being offered to the Lord.
Let us PRAY to God that many more people will enjoy consistent times of prayer throughout the day.  In the morning requesting that God bless all we put our hand to and in the evening thanking God for His presence with us and having given us wisdom throughout the day.  Before we sleep let us thank God for watching over the city and country we live in.
