1 Kings 13:5  ⁵ The altar also was split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the Lord.

As it was with Abraham an altar should only be for the one true God.  In America we have built altars to the things we worship – movie stars, sports, power, money, beauty and all false religious gods.  Pray that all competing altars to the one true God of Israel will suffer collapse as the one in this Bible text.  May the futility of dedicating time and resource to all other gods be revealed. The commandments tell us there is but one God to honor and serve.
