1 Kings 14:25-26 ²⁵ It happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem. ²⁶ And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house; he took away everything. He also took away all the gold shields which Solomon had made. 

Shishak, King of Egypt, took away the treasures of the house of the Lord. Remember, Egypt had enslaved God’s people for 400 years. It is notable that Shishak went after the treasure of the Temple first. If Satan can get Christians to compromise the foundations of our faith he has us in a compromising position. Let us pray today that we will hold fast to the truths and doctrines of the faith passed down to us.
