Tuesday, August 28, 2018 “Idols that Provoke the Lord”

1 Kings 16:25-26 Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse than all who were before him. 26 For he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin by which he had made Israel sin, provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their idols.
God is always provoked by idolatry. He says, “No other gods before me.” An idol is not always made of stone. Idolatry can be a personal or an ideological preference. Pray that those who are “stonewalling” in D.C. will either get out of the way of progress or be taken out of the way through their own missteps.
