1 Kings 21:6-7: He said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ And he answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’ ” Then Jezebel his wife said to him, “You now exercise authority over Israel! Arise, eat food, and let your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

Jezebel told Ahab- “remember you have authority.” In those days in Israel, the law of God concerning inheritance had to be considered in all property rights, etc. Even the king’s authority was under the authority of God’s law. Pray that as a people we would always make sure the correctness of our laws, rights and privileges must be in agreement with God’s word and His blessing upon our land.
