Tuesday September 10, 2019 “Mercy”

2 Kings 13-14
13 Again, he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him, and said to him: “Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight. 14 Look, fire has come down from heaven and burned up the first two captains of fifties with their fifties. But let my life now be precious in your sight.”
This was the third group of fifty soldiers under the command of a captain to be sent by King Ahazia to get Elijah to come and stand before the king. This third captain obviously recognized the power of God working in the Prophet’s life. Fearing for his and other’s lives, he asked for mercy. PRAY that those who oppose God’s work in America will acknowledge God’s work in our day and cease opposition and ask for mercy from God and His people.
