“Fair and Respectful”

Genesis 24:56-59

56 And he said to them, “Do not hinder me, since the Lord has prospered my way; send me away so that I may go to my master.”57 So they said, “We will call the young woman and ask her personally.” 58 Then they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?” And she said, “I will go.”59 So they sent away Rebekah their sister and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant and his men.

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Abraham’s servant could see that God’s hand was upon the mission so he must complete the task quickly and not make room for failure or unnecessary delay. Considering Eleazar’s heart let us pray in agreement on three prayer points tonight.

Prayer Focus #1: The servant sent to get a bride for Isaac knew that God was showing him favor and he wanted nothing to slow down the progress of the mission. Pray that the church in America will see the opportunities before us due to the pandemic, financial and political problems and be quick to respond while doors of opportunity are open.

Prayer Focus #2: Rebekah’s family was quick to address Eleazar’s concerns. Pray that people in America who oppose Christian values will be fair in handling their concerns like Rebekah’s family did.

Prayer Focus #3: Rebekah’s family released her to go with Eleazar when she desired to go with Abraham’s servant. Pray that families who have members who choose to become Christ followers will likewise respect the free will of each person to decide their own spiritual path.
