Sunday August 13, “Boys Will Be Boys”
Genesis 25:27
“27 So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a [a]mild man, dwelling in tents.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Boys will be boys and they eventually grow up and become men. Unfortunately, some boys never grow up and that brings us to our three prayer points this evening.
Prayer Focus #1 Esau was an unsettled person going from place to place hunting, but never satisfied. He was skillful but lacked the ability to be at peace with his place in the world and with what his place in life offered. Pray for the “Esaus” in government, business, and management that they will become settled in the fact that America is a place where people can settle into their life calling and feel comfortable in the way the systems works and that they will cease looking for problems that keep them in a continual lack of contentment.
Prayer Focus #2 We are told that Jacob was a mild man. The word mild in the Hebrew means to be complete. Pray that all Americans will have that sense of completeness in their state in life and that we will find spiritual completeness only in Jesus Christ.
Prayer Focus #3 Jacob and Esau were obviously raised in the home of Isaac and Rebekah. The two of them turned out to be two different kinds of men even though they were twins. Pray that parents in America will have a balanced view of their duty in raising their children to have biblical world views and not feel totally responsible and condemned being told that they failed in raising their children to live right and be successful in life. Children may know what is right, but they must choose that path in life.
