Sunday, October 1, 2023“Covenants and Peace”
Genesis 26:28-29
28 But they said, “We have certainly seen that the Lord is with you. So we said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us; and let us make a covenant with you, 29 that you will do us no harm, since we have not touched you, and since we have done nothing to you but good and have sent you away in peace. You are now the blessed of the Lord.’ ”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Abimelech desired a covenant or treaty with Isaac that there would be peace and no harm done between their people.
Prayer Focus #1 It is interesting to note that it was Abimelech not Isaac that desired peace and safety. That was because Abimelech could see that the Lord was with Isaac. Pray that in America the non-Christians will see the blessings of God on cities where the Lord is honored and that they will desire peace in their cities that are not founded on God’s ways.
Prayer Focus #2 Pray that mayors and other leaders in America whose cities are devastated by lawlessness will desire peace with those who have orders in cities where God and society are in order because of God’s love and respect for one another is practical.
Prayer Focus #3 Pray that God’s people in America will be obedient to God’s word so that it will be evident to the watching world that we are a blessed people.
