Genesis 27:1-2

“One day when Isaac was old and turning blind, he called for Esau, his older son, and said, “My son.” “Yes, Father?” Esau replied. “I am an old man now,” Isaac said, “and I don’t know when I may die.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Isaac came to his son Esau and called him and told him, “I am near the time of my death.” Isaac could see that a change was coming so he called Esau near. Tonight let us follow 3 prayer points as we consider these scriptures:

Prayer Focus #1 Isaac could see that his time was coming to a close. As we come to the November elections and then the general elections of 2024, let us pray that leadership in America that have gone past their useful time will acknowledge the fact and call the younger to step into positions that will lead America into a godly future.

Prayer Focus #2 Isaac had lost his focus (vision) and he called his older son Esau because of the gift of a hunter he possessed. Actually, Jacob would have been the better pick. Pray that as we will shortly enter into the official nominating process in America for President and other offices that those who are deeply involved in the process will not lose their focus as to what is best for America, not their personal performance.

Prayer Focus #3 When Isaac the father called upon Esau his son, Esau eagerly said, “here I am.” Again, as we enter the election process in America, pray that people who may be called will know that it is the will of God that they respond, “Here I am.” The good of the country and the Kingdom of God is based upon God’s choice for leaders at this critical time in history.
