Genesis 27:37-40 “37 Then Isaac answered and said to Esau, “Indeed I have made him your master, and all his brethren I have given to him as servants; with grain and wine I have [a]sustained him. What shall I do now for you, my son?” 38 And Esau said to his father, “Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me—me also, O my father!” And Esau lifted up his voice and wept. 39 Then Isaac his father answered and said to him: “Behold, your dwelling shall be of the [b]fatness of the earth, And of the dew of heaven from above. 40 By your sword you shall live, And you shall serve your brother; And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck.”
It is clear that Jacob is the blessed son of Isaac. The future of Esau is a mixed bag. Isaac had already blessed Jacob who of course received the name change to Israel. Through the ages, descendants of Esau have desired the blessings of Israel and even the fighting in the Middle East is based on the fighting between the brothers.
Today let us “pray for the peace of Jerusalem the Captial of Israel – so shall we prosper” Psalm 122:6. America must continue to bless Israel if we are to receive God’s blessings. Pray for all of the people who are innocent and have been injured and/or have suffered loss in the current war.
