We Are The People

Genesis 29:26-29 ²⁶ And Laban said, “It must not be done so in our ^[a]country, to give the younger before the firstborn. ²⁷ Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years.” ²⁸ Then Jacob did so and fulfilled her week. So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife also. ²⁹ And Laban gave his maid Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as a maid.

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm using the focus point listed below as a guide. Yesterday we saw the sad fact that Jacob found out that “we reap what we sow.” Jacob sowed deception concerning his brother Esau and now he experienced the penalty and pain he caused his brother. Jacob had 14 years of his life spent in servitude to Laban for Rachel’s hand in marriage.

Prayer Focus #1 Jacob didn’t perform due diligence before entering into his agreement with Laban concerning Rachel. Pray that as believers in America will be sure to practice due diligence concerning elections in 2024. If we do not, we could suffer much loss in the years to come. We must pray, investigate, and for sure be involved in primary and general elections.

Prayer Focus #2 Jacob not only gave up his “freedom” for 14 years by his lack of knowledge concerning “village custom.” Pray that we who are God’s people in America will “search the scriptures” to know how godly leaders should govern and vote for those who best follow biblical guidelines. If not, we could find ourselves in more than 14 years of bondage to agreements entered into with the ungodly of the world.

Prayer Focus #3 Jacob, finally through a long way around, got Rachel, his heart’s desire. He was in bondage for 7 extra years like Israel spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness. Pray that at this very pivotal time of history that our leaders will take us into strait gates and narrow paths of truth and righteousness or that they be removed and replaced by men and women of God.
