Sunday, January 21, 2024

Genesis 31:3-5Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.”So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field, to his flock, and said to them, “I see your father’s [a]countenance, that it is not favorable toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

God is calling Jacob home. Jacob is telling his wives about the disfavor their father had shown to him recently, but God has shown favor to him. Join me in these following 3 prayer points:

Prayer Focus #1: Jacob called those who were closer to him than anyone else in this world. Pray that God’s people will gather together around the truth that there is a great need in our day for unity to stand against spiritual forces that have turned our nation against God fearing righteous. When we are on the right side of issues that impact society negatively, we must rise up in faith and challenge the validity of those things that challenge truth.

Prayer Focus #2 Jacob recognized a shift in Laban’s attitude toward him. Pray that Christians in America will recognize that the attitude of many in the land have accepted the lie that good has become evil and had turned away from the respect and honor that God, the Bible, and believers deserve. Pray that God’s people will not bring reproach on the church due to their behavior or speech.

Prayer Focus #3 Jacob knew that God being with him was greater than any disfavor by his father-in-law. Pray that believers in America will realize how blessed they are and not allow the displeasure of a few people distracted them from the blessings they have in Christ.
