Genesis 31:19-20 “¹⁹ Now Laban had gone to shear his sheep, and Rachel had stolen the household^[a] idols that were her father’s. ²⁰ And Jacob stole away, unknown to Laban the Syrian, in that he did not tell him that he intended to flee.”

When Jacob’s father-in-law Laban was busy “shearing the sheep” Jacob took advantage of a getaway that would find him and his family in a place of blessing in Canaan. Pray that while some who are self-centered are shearing the sheep, God’s people will take advantage of the distraction and move swiftly to restoration of faith in America.
