We Are The People

Genesis 35:16-19   Then they journeyed from Bethel. And when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel labored in childbirth, and she had hard labor. ¹⁷ Now it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, “Do not fear; you will have this son also.” ¹⁸ And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni; but his father called him Benjamin. ¹⁹ So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem). 

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm using the focus point listed below as a guide. As Jacob and family moved from Bethel (the House of God) to Ephrath which is Bethlehem (the House of Bread) Rachel had a hard labor in childbirth.  Rachel’s midwife told her that her son would be born, so do not fear.

Tonight let us pray in agreement with the following three prayer focus points.

Prayer Point #1   There are times when God is doing a new thing and there will be labor pains in order to bring forth the new thing.  God is bringing His people in America to a higher level of faith in order to have us ready for the days Jesus calls, “the beginning of sorrows.”  Pray that we will rise to the occasion of living in these days we live in.

Prayer Point #2  The difficult birthing of Benjamin was just before Jacob would arrive at Ephrath (Bethlehem).  Pray that there will be an awareness in the church that the coming of Jesus could be imminent.  “Be ye therefore ready also for an hour you think not the Son of God cometh.”

Prayer Point #3   The midwife had a prophetic word for Rachel saying, “You will have this son also.” There was the detail that a son was coming, so do not fear.  Pray that any fears that the church has about the coming of Christ will be done away through the words from the Holy Spirit who is our encourager.
