We Are The People

Genesis 36:31  ³¹ Now these were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel:

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

In verses 32-39, there are listed many kings who reigned in Edom. The Edomites were enemies of God’s people Israel. God’s desire was for Israel to have Him as their king. Tonight let us use these verses as a foundation for prayer focus points:

Prayer Point #1: Kings in Biblical times were many times corrupted by power and people. Pray that our “kings” (politicians) will guard their hearts and keep free of corruption.

Prayer Point #2: Pray that God will keep us from the “Kings of Edom” who in a spiritual way keep believers from possessing all God has for us like the Edomites kept Israel from their full possession of the land God promised Israel.

Prayer Point #3:  God’s design and design was for Israel to have Him as their king and not a man like Saul their first King. Pray that America will have a desire to have God as our king. He alone can provide care for and protect his own.
