Sunday, September 29, 2024 “Confusion Confronted”

Genesis 38:20-23

20 And Judah sent the young goat by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand, but he did not find her. 21 Then he asked the men of that place, saying, “Where is the harlot who was [a]openly by the roadside? And they said, “There was no harlot in this place.

22 So he returned to Judah and said, “I cannot find her. Also, the men of the place said there was no harlot in this place.

23 Then Judah said, “Let her take them for herself, lest we be shamed; for I sent this young goat and you have not found her.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm EST using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your investment in the “We Are the People” movement that is helping to bring America back to God. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Judah, tricking his daughter in law into thinking he would give one of his sons for the one she had been married to who died, was a bad deal.

Then she tricked her father-in-law into having intimate relations with her for his lack of commitment to his word and she became pregnant. Talk about drama!

Bad became worse as Judah, the father-in-law, was to give who he thought to be a harlot his ring, cord and staff as a guarantee that he would pay for services rendered by giving her a young goat.

Here again the trickery of Tamar the daughter in law resulted in confusion when she could not be found. Confusion multiplied.

Prayer Point #1: Pray that confusion about sexuality will be confronted and that there will be some sense of sensibility returned to American culture concerning sexual activity outside of the one-man, one-woman marriage context.

Prayer Point #2: In verse 21, when asked about the harlot (actually Tamar) the men knew their territory and how to answer Judah. Pray that people who are responsible for keeping our leaders safe will know that lay of the land and people who would threaten our current and possible future leaders.

Prayer Point #3: Hirah the Adullamite did all he could to help Judah with the dilemma he found himself in. Pray that America and her allies (especially Israel) will be faithful in their relationships and agreements with one another to defend and protect one another as Hirah did with Judah.
