We Are The People

Genesis 42:35-36

³⁵ Then it happened as they emptied their sacks, that surprisingly each man’s bundle of money was in his sack; and when they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid. ³⁶ And Jacob their father said to them, “You have bereaved me: Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin. All these things are against me.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm EST using the focus point listed below as a guide. Fear came upon Jacob and his sons when they thought they knew the intentions of Joseph, their brother (whom they did not recognize.)

Prayer Point #1 Pray that America’s leaders will not give in to fear when there are unknowns about relationships concerning trade deals with other nations.

Prayer Point #2 Jacob based his feelings about his sons on unknowns. He said that they bereaved him by leaving Simeon in Egypt. Pray that our leaders will not see the results of our negotiations with other nations as losses. It is so easy to see what happens in the short term and base our feelings and future on that instead of long term gains as this story turns out to be.

Prayer Point #3 Jacob mistakenly surmised that all things were against him. Pray that faith, not paranoia will guide, the future of America’s leaders and that our leaders will not see the giants in the land, but they will see the bigness of our God.
