Sunday, March 2, 2025 “A Good Filter for Kindness”
Genesis 43:16-18
16 When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house, “Take these men to my home, and slaughter [a]an animal and make ready; for these men will dine with me at noon.” 17 Then the man did as Joseph ordered, and the man brought the men into Joseph’s house. 18 Now the men were afraid because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, “It is because of the money, which was returned in our sacks the first time, that we are brought in, so that he may [b]make a case against us and seize us, to take us as slaves with our donkeys.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm EST using the focus point listed below as a guide. This had to be a very emotional moment for Joseph seeing his youngest brother. That led to a God-solution good for both Joseph and his brothers.
Prayer Point #1 Pray that there will be moments in domestic and international meetings where there will be “Aha!” moments that will lead to steps taken toward agreement and resolution of differences.
Prayer Point #2 What Joseph told the steward to do, he did immediately and exactly as he was told. Pray for this kind of expedience and accuracy be practiced by our government workers as they adjust to the restructuring.
Prayer Point #3 In verse 18 of our text, we find Joseph’s brothers responding in fear to their brother Joseph’s kindness to them. It seems they allowed “vain imaginations” to dictate their response to Joseph’s kindness toward them. Pray that our leaders in America will not respond to kindness shown with fear, but with faith that God’s blessing is upon this one nation under God.
