“Favor With Pharaoh”

Genesis 47:5-6 Then Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you. ⁶ The land of Egypt is before you. Have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land; let them dwell in the land of Goshen. And if you know any competent men among them, then make them chief herdsmen over my livestock.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm EST using the focus point listed below as a guide. Joseph couldn’t have imagined how kind Pharaoh could be to Joseph’s father and family. Following these two verses let us find prayer focus points this Sunday evening.

Prayer Focus #1: Pharaoh could not have known all that God had done behind the scenes, but he knew how good of a man Joseph was. In verse 5 he seems to be happy that Joseph’s family was in Egypt. Pray that God’s people will understand that a good witness in business could save the family in the future.

Prayer Focus #2: Pharaoh not only gave a land that would fit their need, but he gave them the best of all the land in Egypt. Pray that we as believers can expect that God has exceedingly good things in our future.

Prayer Focus #3: It sounds like Pharaoh was going to make some of Jacob’s family top managers under him. Pray that we will find favor even with people who are different than us so we can be well provided for during our sojourn on earth.
