Sunday September 28, 2025 “Devour and Divide”
Genesis 49:27-28 “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; In the morning he shall devour the prey, And at night he shall divide the spoil.” 28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father spoke to them. And he blessed them; he blessed each one according to his own blessing.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm EST using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your investment in the “We Are the People” movement that is helping to bring America back to God. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
When we first read Jacob’s words spoken over Benjamin it can appear that he was a wicked and mean man. However, as we look at the three prayer points tonight, we get a better view of the son of Jacob.
Prayer Focus #1: In the morning, Benjamin goes out to devour the prey (which could be an enemy). Benjamin’s sometime aggressive behavior could seem a little much, but he dealt fiercely with his enemies. Pray that God’s people will have the same tenacity in spiritual warfare that Benjamin demonstrated in the human realm. Jesus led the way as he “ate Satan’s lunch’ on the cross.
Prayer Focus #2: Benjamin devoured the prey, and he also divided the spoils. Pray that Christians in America will have that same spirit of faith that Benjamin demonstrated. We do that when we realize we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness. We also divide the spoil when we realize that Jesus in us wins the battle and everyone is to benefit from the victories.
Prayer Focus #3: V.28 concludes the blessing of all twelve tribes of Israel. Each one received a special blessing from their father. Pray that believers in America will see that every one of us has a unique blessing and gifting we received from the Father God and that we all have a responsibility to develop what God has blessed us with and use what we are given to extend the Kingdom of God influence across the land and around the world.
