Monday September 30, 2013 “Ah Lord God”

Jeremiah 32:16-20  “I prayed to the Lord, saying: 17 ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. 18 You show lovingkindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them—the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts. 19 You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings. 20 You have set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, to this day, and in Israel and among other men; and You have made Yourself a name, as it is this day.”
Today let us remember that there is nothing too hard for God.  The prophet began his prayers letting God know that he had confidence that when he prayed everything was possible.  This was not because Jeremiah had so much faith – as it was that God’s greatness could make the answer to prayer possible.
I read recently that today 65% of Americans live with the fear that they will not have enough money to pay their bills.  In 1971 only 48% of Americans felt that concern.  One of the foundation stones of “We Are the People” prayer initiative is that the American Dream of a better future be restored so that our children and grandchildren have hopes and dreams for their future and the future of America.
Let us agree is prayer today that a strong confidence be restored in our all-powerful God who can do all things when we trust in His character and love for us.
