Tuesday April 1, 2014 “A Holy Jealousy”
Neh 5:9 Then I said, “What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?
Nehemiah was jealous over the Name of the Lord. He had rebuked the leaders v.7 for treating their brothers in an ungodly way. The prophet was concerned not only for the welfare of God’s people but also the Lord’s good Name among the nations.
Pray today that there be raised up in our day prophetic voices that will challenge the ungodliness of sinners in high places whose politics have injured God-fearing citizens of America. The watching and listening world is influenced to consider Jesus only as they see the United States “a Christian nation” practicing Jesus’ call to love one another.
