We Are The People

Matthew 6:1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.”

It seems that these words contradict Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before man so they will see your good works and glorify the Father in heaven.”  It seems we must reveal good things when we are tempted to hide them when tempted to show off.  Fear and pride are what is at issue here.

Pray today that Christians in America perform acts of charity without pride or the expectation of eventual personal gain from their acts of charity.
