Thursday March 12, 2013 “Prioritize”

Matthew 6:31-33 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Jesus is teaching us about priorities more than He is about provision. People who do not know God are deceived concerning what is crucial to life. Things become the proverbial “brass ring”. Jesus says that if we get our priorities right, we will have all things added to us that make life one of enjoyment and contentment.
Today let our prayers of agreement be that God’s people get their priorities straight. Pray that we seek the Kingdom through one of the greatest public expressions of faith – go to church where the Bible is preached with authority and power. Then pray that Christians practice what they have learned publicly, letting their lights shine.
