Monday August 24, 2015 “Holiness Unto the Lord”

Zechariah 3:5 (NKJV) And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.”
So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the LORD stood by.
Zechariah 3:5 (King James Version): And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.
In the Hebrew Levitical Priesthood the High Priest wore a mitre or crown with writing on it. The words read, “Holiness Unto The Lord”.
In Ephesians chapter 6 verse 17 we are told to “put on the helmet of salvation.” In New Testament context “holiness unto the Lord is not something we do but a position we are placed in when we are born again. We are separated unto the Lord through being born again (becoming God’s child through faith in His work of grace through the cross).
Let us pray together this day that the church keep its focus concerning our foundational mission – to take the message of salvation to people all over America with love and determination to see this land turned back to God in holiness and righteousness.
