We Are The People

Zechariah 8:16 “¹⁶ These are the things you shall do: Speak each man the truth to his neighbor;  Give judgment in your gates for truth, justice, and peace.”

 In John 14:6 Jesus calls Himself Truth.  It is so important that we honor this descriptive name of the Savior by practicing it.  The Apostle Paul tells us that we grow up in Christ by “speaking the truth in love.”

Today let our focus in prayer be upon we who are called by the Name of Christ to be truth-tellers.  As our verse instructs this begins with those closest to us – our neighbors.  It is easy to hold back truth so that we don’t “offend” or be controversial but Jesus, the truth, spoke truth and caused people to think and brought some to genuine faith based on truth.
