1 Kings 14:1-2 At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam became sick. 2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please arise, and disguise yourself, that they may not recognize you as the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Indeed, Ahijah the prophet is there, who told me that I would be king over this people.
Jeroboam knew his own heart and he sent his wife to Shiloh to see what the prophet would say to her about their son. Jeroboam had her disguise herself so the prophet would not recognize her as the wife of her idolatrous husband. Let us pray today that our leaders will not only know their own heart, but also repent so they might have confidence when approaching God and His earthly representatives.
