We Are The People

1 Kings 14:9-10 9 but you have done more evil than all who were before you, for you have gone and made for yourself other gods and molded images to provoke Me to anger, and have cast Me behind your back— 10 therefore behold! I will bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam every male in Israel, bond and free; I will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as one takes away refuse until it is all gone.

Because God’s people used their abilities and talents to create images and idols the Lord said He would take away leadership in the land as refuse is dealt with. This would not be a “gingerly” handled operation but one that would be likened to the removal of refuse that is filled with foul odor and worthless.   God has dealt kindly with America and we have become the wealthiest and most creative people ever. But we have gone the way of many before us who have not used God’s best blessing on His kingdom and worship.  Pray that we will turn all of our affection and skills toward God and to worship Him before we find ourselves as only that which is worthless like in Jeroboam’s day.
