Sunday, January 29, 2023 “So Abraham Prayed”
Genesis 20:17-18 “17 So Abraham prayed to God; and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants. Then they bore children; 18 for the Lord had closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Abimelech did not realize it, but he was dealing with a man who held the keys to the kingdom of God in his hand. The future of the land that Abimelech so “benevolently” gave to Abraham already belonged to Abraham. Let us pray tonight in that same spirit of faith that God was on Abraham’s side and is in control of the land and its blessing.
Prayer Focus #1: “Abraham prayed to God.” He did not pray because of religious duty or to make him feel better about himself. Pray that believers in America will intercede for the nation with a spirit of faith in God who truly holds blessings in his hand.
Prayer Focus #2: “God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants.” Pray that healing will come to many in America who blame God for unfortunate things that have happened in their lives and those close to them. Many times, the forgiveness toward God and man will open the window of blessing from heaven once again.
Prayer Focus #3: As in verse 18, blessing and fruitfulness was cut off because of misunderstanding between Abimelech and Abraham. Pray that doors of dialogue will open between believers and non-believers in America that will open doors of fruitfulness in America once again and remove the barrenness created by an anti-God, anti-truth culture.
