Saturday September 21, 2013 “Pleasing Prayers”

1 Kings 3:10 “10 The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.”
God was pleased that Solomon did not ask anything that was self-gratifying.  His prayer was one for the edification of others.  Solomon desired for God to be honored when his prayers would be answered.  This pleased the Lord.  May our prayers rejoice the heart of God as Solomon’s request pleased the Lord.
James 4 teaches us that at times our prayers are “asking amiss” (not hitting the mark).
May God help us fix our hearts on doing His will so that others might be blessed when our prayers are answered.  This is when God is pleased.
