Then he said, “God do so to me and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat remains on him today!” 32 But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. And the king sent a man ahead of him, but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent someone to take away my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door. Is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America.

The king of Israel was convinced that Elisha was an enemy and wanted the prophet dead. He wanted him dead before sunset but God was not through with Elisha yet. So God kept Elisha alive and well and the man of God taught the Elders of Israel a lesson about a gift of the Spirit known as a word of knowledge.
Prayer Focus #1 Elisha and the Elders were sitting in the prophet’s house. The Elders or leaders surrounded Elisha. They were united with him. Pray that the leaders of America (even just the Republicans) will sit and listen to our president and discuss those things that are necessary to do now so that in the future our children and grandchildren will have a chance to see the hand of God work in their generation and that they will not carry the unbearable burden of taxes due to Covid 19 spending. Sitting at the table is so important for the future of America.
Prayer Focus #2 Elisha knew that the king of Syria sent a messenger to confront the prophet. The prophet told the Elders – be sure that the messenger of the king he called “the son of a murderer” were on their way to where they were. Pray that our leaders around America will seek the Lord and see things in the Spirit realm.
Prayer Focus #3 Elisha said “Shut the door”. What is happening in America today with the pandemic and the demonstrations and killing – pray that people will shut the door on too much news and spend more time in prayer for the hand of God to intervene.
