We Are The People

2 Kings 14:5-6

“Now it happened, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he executed his servants who had murdered his father the king. ⁶ But the children of the murderers he did not execute, according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, in which the Lord commanded, saying, “Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; but a person shall be put to death for his own sin.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Amaziah was careful to “play by the rules” in many ways. Deuteronomy 28 tells us this is what we must do to receive blessings. Tonight, let us follow the pattern set so it might be said with authority, “God Bless America!”

Prayer Focus #1 Pray that our leaders will desire to know God’s Word concerning the many issues we face today in America. Pray that God will raise up wise Spirit-filled men and women who will “Pastor” our leaders in government and business.

Prayer Focus #2 God is clear here and in Ezekiel chapter 18 that fathers shall not be punished for their sons, nor sons for their fathers misgivings and sins. Pray that especially in politics we will focus on the person in office or running for office not their parents or their children.

Prayer Focus #3 Verse 6 teaches us that people will be punished for their own sins. Pray that wrong doers in politics will have their disobediences brought into the light and that they will receive the reward for their sin that affects all Americans as far as polies are concerned.
